Mardi Gras isopods are a colorful morph of Oniscus asellus, known for their mottled patterns of cream, grey, orange, and dark speckling that resemble festive confetti. Unlike many tropical isopods in the hobby, Oniscus asellus originates from cooler, temperate environments. They are hardy, adaptable, and steady breeders that do especially well in rich forest-style substrates with plenty of leaf litter.

Live Isopods are shipped in a quantity of an estimated 12-15. This is to ensure that at least 10 good specimens arrive with the shipment.
Ages of the isopods will vary. Gender and age cannot be guaranteed.

SHIPPING POLICY

Shipping Days
We ship live animals on Tuesdays and Wednesdays only.
Orders received after 12:00 PM Wednesday will ship the following week.

Live Animal Shipping
All live animals are shipped via FedEx:
2-Day or Overnight service
Orders over $100 must ship Overnight
Hold for Pickup is required if temperatures are below 55°F or above 85°F
If Hold for Pickup is required and door delivery is requested instead, the Live Arrival Guarantee will be void.

Dry Goods Shipping
Dry goods are shipped via United States Postal Service Priority Mail.
Estimated delivery: 3–5 business days.

Shipping Limitations
We ship only within the continental United States
Customers are responsible for verifying legality of animal ownership in their state
Customers are responsible for correct shipping address

We are not responsible for:
Lost, misdelivered, or stolen packages
Shipping carrier delays
Refused packages
Packages not picked up from carrier facility

Shipping fees are non-refundable.
RETURN POLICY

Live Animals
All live animal sales are final once shipped.
We do not accept returns on live animals.
However, we offer a Live Arrival Guarantee (LAG) as outlined below.

Dry Goods (Non-Live Items)
Returns are accepted within 30 days of purchase provided:
Item is unopened
Item is unused
Item is in original packaging
Item is in original condition
We do not accept returns on:
Opened or used products
Sale items

Shipping costs (original and return) are non-refundable.

Refunds may be issued as either:
Store credit
Refund to original payment method
Processing times depend on your financial institution.

LIVE ARRIVAL GUARANTEE (LAG)
To qualify for LAG:
Animals must ship Hold for Pickup (when required)
Animals must be picked up the same day delivered
You must email whimsicalworkz@gmail.com within one (1) hour of pickup
Provide timestamped photos and/or video of the deceased specimen
LAG applies only to the cost of the animal(s).
Shipping costs are not covered.
Shipping for replacement animals is the responsibility of the buyer.
Failure to follow these requirements voids the guarantee.
